2007 FORD F-250 KING RANCH PAINT CORRECTION JOB

This 2007 Ford F-250 King Ranch was a labor of love.

The paint was in terrible shape. We used multiple combinations of paint correction.

The interesting thing is that no heat was applied to the paint; we used Italian RUPES tools. They spin but they oscillate and don’t create heat. No swirling, no marring of paint, no delineation of clear coat.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO CORRECT ANY IMPERFECTIONS IN YOUR VEHICLE’S PAINT?

Imperfections in your paint job are not always a serious issue, but if you value the appearance of your vehicle or plan on reselling at a later date, keeping the paint in excellent condition is important.

Correcting imperfections can help prevent additional damage to your vehicle’s paint. Even minor scratches can allow contaminants to build up and cause additional damage that makes it harder to fix. Bottom line is – if you see damage to your paint, get it check out and fixed.

HOW CAN YOU PROTECT YOUR VEHICLE FROM WATER MARKS, MARRING, UV DAMAGE AND MORE?

Ceramic car coatings are an ideal way to protect your vehicle’s paint. It bonds with the paint to create an added layer of protection that is better formulated to resist chemicals and heat.

It also acts as another layer of protection when it comes to marring and scratching; while it won’t prevent scratches, the ceramic coating is stronger than clear coating and resists much better.

CAN PAINT CORRECTION DAMAGE YOUR VEHICLE?

If you try to correct imperfections in your vehicle’s paint by yourself or have an amateur car detailer do it, there is a chance that you will do more harm that good. We have encountered numerous vehicles which were damaged by attempts to correct imperfections.

Damage from paint correction occurs most often when you fail to properly clean the vehicle prior to beginning. It’s important to do a very detailed cleaning so that dirt/debris doesn’t get caught up in the polisher and further scratch the vehicle.

Another cause of damage while correcting the paint is using the wrong tools or using the right tools incorrectly. Paint correction is a meticulous process of removing just enough of the surface coating without removing too much.

Like in the video above, we are very careful with the paint correction process and what tools we use. We’ve been doing automotive detailing, paint correction, and ceramic car coatings for years.

HOW CAN I PREVENT DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE’S PAINT?

Preventing damage is always easier than fixing it. Here are some ways you may be able to prevent or reduce damage.

First, clean your car regularly. But not at a car wash. We see so much damage done by car washes and improper washings. You want to use a gentle soap, a clean, soft sponge, and keep the car moist while cleaning. When done, gently towel dry to prevent water spots from forming.

If you can afford it, have a professional car detailer do a through exterior detailing of your vehicle at least once a year.

Second, inspect your car on a regular basis. Taking a good look at the paint may help you notice spots where damage is beginning. You should include this into your routine maintenance on your vehicle with checking tire pressure, oil levels, and radiator fluid.

Third, park with care. Don’t park close to other vehicles that might ding your vehicle. Be wary of parking under a tree (bird droppings) but parking in the shade is good (lower UV damage). If possible, park in your garage.

But not everyone can park in their garage or take the time to gentle wash their car. So, how do you protect your vehicle? One way is a ceramic car coating that we talked about earlier. It’ll help protect your vehicle and make routine maintenance easier.
