Ceramic Coating For Your Car
We’re all used to cars getting dirty and dinged, but what if there was a way to protect your car and keep that shine for longer? Ceramic coating is just the thing.
Once you drive away from the dealership, your car’s finish begins to decline based on your environment and driving conditions. With a ceramic car coating, you can keep that showroom finish for years to come.
A ceramic coating for your car provides a layer of protection and shine that goes beyond what you can get with car waxes. The nano-coating makes it more resistant to the normal wear and tear by giving it added protection from UV damage, oxidation, and chemical stains and etching. The hydrophobic nature of the coating reduces the amount of dirt that sticks and makes cleaning it quicker and easier.
At the factory, your car was painted with uniformity in-depth and gloss, but over time, your vehicle’s paint job has taken a beating. We perform professional paint correction to restore your car’s initial beauty. We’ll help you fall in love all over again.
The Science Of Paint Correction
When your car rolls off the factory line, the paint job is immaculate and pristine, but over time, all cars begin to lose their shine. Why? Many reasons such as the driving environment, car-washing techniques, inexperienced car detailers, and more. Often, the paint is damaged from mineral deposits from the rain or even water from the hose that can etch marks or fade the paint.
Proper paint correction is actually more of a mix of art and science. Using nano-abrasive technology, the techs at U.S. Auto Spa remove the service of the paint at a micron level where the damage lies. This process uncovers the initial luster and can restore the evenness back to your vehicle’s original paint job.
Call us and let’s talk about the best approach to correcting the paint job of your car.

Ceramic Car Coating FAQs
Why get ceramic coatings on my vehicles?
We invest a considerable amount of money and time into our vehicles. Plus, we spend a lot of time in them. Keeping them looking great is one way to protect our investment.
Ceramic coatings provide a higher level of protection to our vehicles, making them more resistant to normal wear and tear, which means that they look great, longer. It also means that damage that is done has less of an effect. Ceramic car coatings are like giving your vehicle a shield against grime.
When it comes time to sell the vehicle, a ceramic coating can make a considerable difference in the value of your car. Many people buy based on visual appeal. A car that looks beautiful and clean is perceived to be in better shape than other vehicles, making buyers believe that the car will last longer.
How does a ceramic coating protect your vehicle?
A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that forms a semi-permanent bond with your vehicle’s paint to create a nano-coating. This layer is thin but incredibly tough. It seals all of the pores in the car paint which makes the surface water repellent.
The ceramic coating polymer protects the vehicle from ultraviolet radiation which reduces the amount of oxidization that can occur. Because the surface becomes hydrophobic, the surface is also chemically resistant. This can keep some acidic contaminants from bonding with the surface causing etching and stains.
While the coating will provide added protection, you still need to do some maintenance to keep it in top shape. Ceramic coatings are not 100% protection so getting your vehicle regularly detailed by a professional and treating your vehicle right will help prevent the coating from deteriorating more quickly than anticipated.
How long does a ceramic car coating last?
Ceramic coatings are more durable than waxing which only lasts a month or two. Most ceramic coatings last for 18+ months with proper application. We offer an 18-month and a 36-month ceramic coating.
The only option that is more permanent and offers more protection is a paint protection film like a clear bra.
You can increase the life span of your ceramic coating by properly maintaining it. Nano-coating is not “do it and forget it”. The coating will slowly wear away; how much exposure it gets determines how quickly it will wear down.
How should you maintain your ceramic car coating?
Regular maintenance is important for keeping your ceramic coating in good health. Just like any other surface, the coating is exposed to abrasion from the elements. How much exposure it gets affects how frequently you need to do maintenance and how long the coating will last.
You need to regularly wash your vehicle. While the hydrophobic coating will repel a lot of things, contaminates can still build up. Regularly washing your vehicle will help remove those contaminates. Consult with your auto detailer about what products you should use when washing the vehicle as some cleaners may damage the coating.
Regular ‘boosters’ are also advisable. Nano-coatings aren’t 100% protection and will lose effectiveness through time. The more damage the coating takes, the less protection it gives. Regular boosters can help repair any damage done to the coating, making the coating last longer.
Getting your vehicle professionally detailed on a regular basis will help you know when the ceramic coating is getting damaged and help address those issues.
How is a ceramic coating applied?
Before a ceramic coating can be applied, the vehicle needs a detailed cleaning to provide a clean surface for the coating to bond with and to prevent contaminants from being sealed in.
It’s also necessary to do correct any paint imperfections prior to applying the coating. If the vehicle has had wax applied, you need to remove that as well.
The coating can then be applied section by section. The process requires meticulous attention to detail with frequent checks.
After the coating is applied, the only required maintenance for the vehicle is regular washings with nonabrasive chemicals and tools. Boosters and other products can be used if necessary.
Paint Correction Service FAQs
Is paint correction worth it?
Absolutely yes! Correcting those imperfections will increase the value of your vehicle and help prevent future issues.
Correcting the paint will also prevent those imperfections from growing worse and causing more damage. When we work on a vehicle, we help the owners identify the causes for the wear and tear that they are seeing and look for ways to reduce future issues.
If you plan on reselling your vehicle or if you have leased your vehicle, correcting paint imperfections will give you a greater value than you otherwise would have. The visual aspect of a car’s value is very important and makes the difference between someone looking to buy a vehicle just for transportation or for lifestyle.
Driving a shiny, looks-like-new car says that you are well off, wealthy, and successful.
How much does paint correction cost?
A “one-size fits all” paint correction services simply doesn’t exist. A number of different factors need to be considered before a job can start and those factors may affect the cost.
To start, you have to consider the type of vehicle that is being worked on – both the make, model, and size and also its use and value.
All of our paint correction jobs begin with a thorough exterior detailing of the entire vehicle. This gives us a clean area to work with and also helps us identify all of the problem areas.
The types of problem areas and the type of vehicle is important for determining the types of materials used and how long it will take to fix it. Quicker is not better when it comes to paint correction. Moving too quickly or using materials that are too aggressive can cause more damage. It’s always better to err on the side of caution.

What causes paint imperfections?
Paint imperfections can be caused by a variety of things.
Normal wear and tear on vehicles that are frequently driven can result from sun exposure and weather exposure, bird droppings, road debris, car washes, and more. Typically, this shows up in water spots, swirl marks, etches, scratches, and other marring.
You can take steps to prevent issues from happening. For instance, parking the vehicle in a protected area, like a garage, and getting the vehicle regularly cleaned by a professional. Automatic car washes and non-professional detailing of your car can actually cause more issues.
If you do get your vehicle regularly detailed by an experienced professional, they can identify problem areas before they become major issues.
How does paint correction work?
Paint correction services are custom-fitted to your vehicle and the targeted imperfections.
We start with a throughout inspection of the vehicle to identify the targeted imperfections and then create a game plan for removing those imperfections. From there, the vehicle gets a throughout exterior detailing to prime the entire area and also to look for any imperfections that may have been hidden from view. (If a vehicle is in particularly bad shape, we start with the exterior detailing and then inspect and identify the target areas).
The equipment and products that we use depend on the type of vehicle and the type of issue. The goal is to smooth the target area to remove the imperfections with minimal removal of the clear-coat and/or paint.
If a scratch or other imperfection is too deep to be completely removed, we minimize it as much as possible.
Often, customers decide to add a clear ceramic coating to their vehicle after the paint correction process is completed. This adds an extra layer of paint protection to the vehicle.
When should you do paint correction?
The best time to correct imperfections in your car’s paint is before you return it at the end of a lease, before you sell it, or when the issues threaten further damage.
The paint correction process will leave your vehicle looking like new. Add a detailed interior cleaning of the vehicle, and you are much more likely to get a higher trade-in value or sale than not.
You should also keep an eye on any paint damage and get it corrected before more serious issues can take place. It’s not uncommon for car owners to decide on a set schedule for this type of maintenance by getting the vehicle detailed yearly and having paint correction and ceramic coatings done every 3-5 years.
As far as what time during the year to have a paint correction done, there isn’t really the best time. The process can take anywhere from 3 hours to over 8 hours depending on the vehicle and damage done.
